The longest running event of its kind in the state!

On Saturday, February 1, 2020, the Intense Games series will host the 10th Annual Winter Chiller at Layne Performance Center.  For the 1st time all athletes will compete as same sex partners!  We will have novice, intermediate, master 45+ and open divisions.  Athlete check-in will not be required until approximately one hour before their first workout, which schedule will be posted well in advance.  We will again have a web-based online scoring system so athletes will have access to their standings on their smart phone or any device that has internet capability within minutes after their heat has finished.

Please note partner must register separately. 

~Divisions are based off of the highest level teammate.  For example if a team is comprised of a novice and an intermediate, the team would register for intermediate. 

*Novice qualifications – never competed in an on site CrossFit competition (WV Open, CrossFit Open and online competitions do not count).

*Intermediate qualifications – never have placed higher than 5th place in an onsite CrossFit competition. 

*Masters 45+ - athletes 45+ in age (both partners must be 45+).

*Open qualifications – open to everyone, regardless of experience or previous placing in onsite competitions.

WOD 1
5 AMRAP 
30 Calorie Assault Bike Buy In
Synchro Alternating 1 Arm DB Snatches
*Only 1 bike per team
*Must switch DB on ground
*Athletes must be at the top of the Snatch at the same time

WOD 2 
5 AMRAP 
Axle Bear Complex
*Only 1 Axle may be used
*Axle will be shared by partners
*Weight can not be changed during WOD
*You may combine movements (squat clean to thruster, etc)
*2 full squats below parallel and 2 full lockouts overhead required

WOD 3 Stones
1 minute for each partner to shoulder stone in the ladder
Rep last stone for +5# on each rep
​*Stone must come to a complete stop before each rep, no bouncing

Scoring will be total volume of weight across 3 WODs.  The field will be cut for a Winner Take All Final WOD
