Which ribbon is your color?
Disclaimer: You should discuss your health risks with your physician before starting any exercise program.

No matter the ribbon that identifies with your diagnosis, we are here to help those that have been diagnosed with the "C" word. Strength is vital to all adults as we age, but during cancer treatments (and after), it is even more important to keep your muscles as strong as possible. Muscle weakness can occur due to changes in activity and diet, and some medications used in cancer treatments can also contribute to weaknesses and imbalances. It is best to start a simple strength training program as soon as a cancer diagnosis is given and it is important to continue strength training after your cancer treatment begins.
At CrossFit Intense, we are familiar with the challenges that are faced by those with a cancer diagnosis and are qualified to assist you in beginning a strength training program to not only increase your physical strength, but will have carry-over for your mental fortitude as you navigate through your treatments.
If you have received a cancer diagnosis, contact us and we will be here to keep you strong and focused on the challenges that life has chosen you to face. You need friends, family and strength to carry you through and we will do our part to be there for you. All you have to do is reach out.

Co-Owner of CrossFit Intense, Mindy Layne, was diagnosed with cancer in early September 2016. Since then she has faced the stresses that come with the initial flurry of medical appointments, researching treatment options, evaluating medical providers, preparing for surgeries, dilemmas regarding what, if any, chemotherapy options would be acceptable, challenges regarding the lasting effects of radiation, even more surgeries and then the overarching question that prevails in her thoughts every day: what if the cancer returns? "Cancer Kickers" was created at the behest of one of Mindy's surgeons, Dr. Cristiane Ueno, who strongly believes that physical strength was vital to helping Mindy overcome the challenges that she faced following her diagnosis.
